Interim Kings coach Doug Christie has hilarious response to Keegan Murray’s engagement photo

Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray is getting married.

Murray asked girlfriend Carly Printy for her hand in marriage during the All-Star break and she said yes. A photo posted to Instagram showed Murray popping the question in a scenic location while down on one knee.

Interim Kings coach Doug Christie offered a hilarious response when asked if he had any marital advice for Murray.

“When I saw the picture, I told him the fact that you got down on one knee tells me you can get low on defense,” Christie said. “We’re happy for him. Well done. He’s a great kid and I’m sure he’ll be an awesome husband.”

Murray and Printy are both natives of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murray starred at Prairie High School before going onto the University of Iowa.

Sacramento selected Murray with the No. 4 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He is averaging 12.0 points and 7.1 rebounds in his third season with the Kings.

Printy was an all-conference basketball player at Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa, before going on to play at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She went viral in 2020 when she threw up a no-look shot and started dancing only to have the ball ricochet off the rim and hit her in the head.
