Who will Sacramento Kings play if they beat Mavericks in NBA play-in game?

The Kings now know who they would face in a potential second-round play-in game, but first they have to get past the Dallas Mavericks.

The No. 9 Kings will play the No. 10 Mavericks in a first-round play-in game Wednesday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The winner will travel to play the Memphis Grizzlies with a chance to advance to the NBA playoffs as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference to face the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Golden State Warriors secured the No. 7 seed with a 121-116 victory over the Grizzlies on Tuesday at Chase Center in San Francisco. Jimmy Butler had 38 points seven rebounds and six assists. Stephen Curry scored 37 points.

Desmond Bane scored 30 points for the Grizzlies, who dropped into the elimination bracket to await the winner of the Kings-Mavericks game. Ja Morant suffered an ankle injury but returned to the game to finish with 22 points.

The Kings went 2-1 against the Grizzlies during the regular season. They suffered a 115-110 loss on Dec. 5 in Memphis. The Kings won both games in Sacramento, beating the Grizzlies 138-133 on Jan. 3 and 132-122 on March 17.

Grizzlies rookie Jaylen Wells, a Sacramento native and former Folsom High School star, scored a career-high 30 points in the second game against Sacramento. Desmond Bane scored 44 points in the third game.

Wells suffered a season-ending injury when he took a nasty fall in an April 8 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Wells is out with a right wrist fracture, facial lacerations and a concussion.
