Kings player was top performer at NBA Summer League; two more in top 15
Sacramento Kings forward Isaac Jones was the top individual performer at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas based on HoopsHype’s Global Rating system.
Two other members of Sacramento’s Summer League squad ranked among the top 15 with Nique Clifford at No. 9 and Devin Carter at No. 12.
The Kings went 4-0 in preliminary play and then took down the Toronto Raptors in the semifinals before suffering an 83-78 loss to the Charlotte Hornets in Sunday’s championship game at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center.
Jones, Clifford and Carter were among the top Summer League performers, according to HoopsHype’s Global Rating system, which evaluates players not only on individual statistics, but also team strength, competition level and the impact of games missed.
Jones averaged 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 64.6% from the field. The 6-foot-9, 245-pound power forward went undrafted out of Washington State in 2024. He signed a two-way contract with the Kings before getting converted to a standard NBA contract in March.
Jones appeared in 40 games for Sacramento last season, averaging 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game. He could carve out a role for himself with the Kings as a young, athletic big man who can play power forward or center.
Clifford came out of Colorado State as the 24th overall pick in June’s NBA draft. He averaged 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals during Summer League, shooting 49.3% from the field and 45.8% from 3-point range.
Carter, who came out of Providence as the No. 13 pick in the 2024 draft, averaged 14.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.7 steals in Summer League. He shot 40.5% overall and 28.9% from beyond the arc.
