Sacramento Kings provide injury updates on Murray, Sabonis and Westbrook

The Sacramento Kings provided injury updates on a number of key players Tuesday as they prepare to open a three-game homestand against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kings center Domantas Sabonis is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game at Golden 1 Center. Point guard Russell Westbrook will be available along with forward De’Andre Hunter, who was acquired Saturday in a three-team trade that sent Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis to the Cleveland Cavaliers with Dario Saric going to the Chicago Bulls.

Sabonis and Westbrook were full participants in Tuesday’s practice after missing recent games due to injuries. Hunter was also a full participant.

Forward Keegan Murray, who has not played since Jan. 4 due to a sprained ankle, is progressing in his recovery and will be reevaluated in two weeks. Murray has missed the past 14 games with a moderate left ankle sprain. He has been cleared for on-court activities, but based on the updated timeline he probably won’t return until after the NBA All-Star break.

Sabonis, who has been the subject of trade rumors and speculation ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, has missed the past two games. He was held out of Friday’s game against the Boston Celtics due to left knee injury management. He was a late scratch for Sunday’s game against the Washington Wizards because of lower back soreness.

Westbrook missed the past three games due to a right foot contusion. Schroder started in place of Westbrook before Saturday’s trade. Rookie first-round draft pick Nique Clifford started at point guard in Sunday’s game against the Wizards.
