The California Classic will serve as a warmup for the Las Vegas Summer League, which will be held July 9-19 at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. Summer league teams feature rookies, second-year players and other young prospects vying for spots on NBA and G League rosters.
Summer league games feature 10-minute quarters. A highlight of the California Classic will be the Battle of NorCal showdown when the Kings and Warriors play for the Mitch Richmond Trophy on Day 2 in Sacramento.
The Kings hosted the first California Classic in 2018. In 2024, the Kings and Warriors co-hosted the first dual site California Classic. In 2025, the Warriors hosted the event after the Kings chose not to participate.
