Kings game plan against the Memphis Grizzlies
KINGS (5-3) AT GRIZZLIES (7-1)
THE PARTICULARS
▪ Where: FedExForum, Memphis, Tenn.
▪ Time: 5 p.m.
▪ TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140
THREE KEYS
▪ 1. Big emphasis: The Grizzlies are one of the few teams that do not rely on small ball. They use two dominant post players, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, so Jason Thompson should see extended time for defense.
▪ 2. Push the pace: Memphis excels at slowing games. The Kings need to take advantage of every chance to push the tempo so they don’t have to go against Memphis’ halfcourt defense.
▪ 3. Passing with care: The Kings had only 17 assists Tuesday at Dallas. Their goal is to have about 23 with 13 or fewer turnovers. If the Kings find open teammates and don’t get sloppy (22 turnovers Tuesday), they will have a chance to win.
