Kings game plan: at New Orleans Pelicans
KINGS (8-5) AT PELICANS (7-5)
THE PARTICULARS
Where: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans
Time: 5 p.m.
TV/radio: CSNCA, 950, 1140
THREE KEYS
1. Perimeter defense: Sacramento must stick to the game plan to contain the Pelicans on offense. That means doing a better job of keeping Tyreke Evans out of the paint, which the Kings didn’t do last week in the second half in a 106-100 loss to New Orleans in Sacramento.
2. Finding Ryan: New Orleans big man Ryan Anderson made three three-pointers last week in the pivotal third quarter. The Kings must keep track of him and not allow him open looks on the perimeter.
3. Power advantage: The Pelicans have no matchup answer for Rudy Gay, and DeMarcus Cousins should have his way, too. If both can get their looks in the paint, it will open up the offense for the rest of the team.
