Preview of Friday’s Kings game against the Indiana Pacers
KINGS (9-9) VS. PACERS (7-11)
THE PARTICULARS
▪ Where: Sleep Train Arena
▪ Time: 7 p.m.
▪ TV/radio: CSNCA, NBA, 1140
THREE KEYS
▪ 1. Ball security: The Kings are 5-1 when they commit fewer than 15 turnovers, so if they give the Pacers too many easy points off turnovers, the Kings will be in trouble.
▪ 2. Defend without fouling: Without center DeMarcus Cousins (viral infection), the Kings cannot afford to have their big men in foul trouble against Indiana’s front line. They’ll need Jason Thompson on the court to deal with David West and/or Luis Scola.
▪ 3. Start faster: The Kings have made a habit of falling behind by big margins during their four-game losing streak, only to have their rallies fall short. More urgency is needed to start games.
