Preview of Monday’s Kings game against the Utah Jazz
KINGS (10-10)
VS. JAZZ (5-15)
THE PARTICULARS
▪ Where: Sleep Train Arena
▪ Time: 7 p.m.
▪ TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140
THREE KEYS
▪ 1. Fire in the first: The Kings need to show more intensity to start the game than they did in losing to Orlando on Saturday. Trying to get started after Utah has confidence is a bad idea.
▪ 2. More defense: The Kings allowed 105.2 points per game and 48.2 percent shooting in their 10 losses. Those figures dip to 98.2 points allowed and 41 percent shooting in their wins.
▪ 3. Don’t love the dribble: With the Kings still without DeMarcus Cousins, the Kings need to emphasize ball and player movement more. When they dribble too much and rely on one-on-one play, they are too easy to defend.
