Kings vs. Brooklyn Nets at a glance
Kings vs. Nets
THE PARTICULARS
- Where: Sleep Train Arena
- When: Friday, 7 p.m.
- TV/radio: CSNCA, NBA, 1140
THREE KEYS
- 1. Defensive effort: The Kings avoided a meltdown Wednesday by committing to play defense in the second half despite some fatigue issues. As a result, they held an opponent under 100 points for the first time this season.
- 2. Rondo’s energy: Rajon Rondo has two triple doubles in his past three games but has played all 48 minutes in two consecutive games due to depth issues. It’s tough taking Rondo out when he’s running the offense like this, but if Seth Curry (ankle) can return Friday, it would will at least allow Rondo to get a breather.
- 3. Interior defense: DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings did a good job of limiting Andre Drummond’s impact on Wednesday’s game. They face another talented big man in Brook Lopez (19.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg), clearly the leading threat for the 1-7 Nets.
