Preview of Saturday’s Kings-Knicks game
KINGS (12-17)
VS. KNICKS (5-26)
THE PARTICULARS
Where: Sleep Train Arena
Time: 7 p.m.
TV/radio: CSNCA/NBA, 950, 1140
THREE KEYS
1. Melo rules: The focus of New York’s offense is Carmelo Anthony. It will take a team effort to make it tough on Anthony to score. Rudy Gay will likely draw the first crack at slowing him down.
2. Mental focus: With a four-game trip looming, the Kings need to close out the month at home with a win. Taking advantage of the home-heavy December schedule has been tough with DeMarcus Cousins missing much of it, but a win over the struggling Knicks would be a good way to leave town.
3. Fast start: The Knicks are on a six-game losing streak. The Kings need to jump on New York and not allow the game to be close late. If the Kings start slow, as they have a lot this season, the Knicks could gain confidence to pull out a win.
