Kings start slow, fall to Nets
Player of the game: Brooklyn center Brook Lopez had 22 points and six blocks off the bench as the Nets sent the Kings to their fifth straight defeat, 103-100.
Turning point: Someone forgot to tell the Kings the game started at 7 p.m. Brooklyn jumped out to a 36-24 lead as the Kings looked as they had no intention to play defense.
Key stat: The Nets had 38 points in the paint in the first half, a season high for a Kings opponent, as they built a 62-46 lead at halftime.
X-factor: Joe Johnson had six points and four rebounds in the fourth quarter to help hold of the Kings. He finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Injury update: Carl Landry (sprained right wrist) missed his fourth consecutive game.
Up next: The Kings (16-25) play at Golden State Friday.
