49ers pregame: Beadles backup tackle; Seattle thin at running back
Zane Beadles will serve as the 49ers' backup tackle for the second straight game while the Seahawks will be without running back Thomas Rawls, who rushed for 209 yards against the 49ers a year ago.
Rawls is out with a shin injury; another running back, C.J. Prosise, is out with a sprained wrist. Christine Michael is expected to start for Seattle at running back. The Seahawks promoted running back Terrence Magee from their practice squad last week due to the injuries at the position.
The 49ers’ tackle situation was altered last week when Anthony Davis suffered a concussion in practice. He has not practiced since and will miss his second straight game. That makes Beadles, the starting left guard, the backup at both tackle spots. If Beadles had to play tackle, rookie Joshua Garnett would step in at left guard
Meanwhile, Shayne Skov, who was added to the active roster last week in place of injured Ray-Ray Armstrong, is in uniform and will play on special teams. The 49ers’ four inside linebackers are: Skov, NaVorro Bowman, Gerald Hodges and Michael Wilhoite.
