49ers pregame: No Glenn Dorsey, Carlos Hyde vs. Buccaneers
SANTA CLARA -- Glenn Dorsey will miss his second game in the last three weeks as he continues to come back from last year's ACL injury.
Dorsey, by far the most senior member of the team's embattled defensive line, was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. But he was limited on Thursday and Friday and was deemed questionable for today's game against the Buccaneers. Because the 49ers have a bye next week, Dorsey will have 14 days before the team's next contest.
He was inactive in Week 1, played in the next three games, and was inactive for the Thursday game against the Cardinals. He played 19 snaps last week against the Bills.
Meanwhile, the 49ers did not reveal which runner would replace Carlos Hyde, saying that Mike Davis or Shaun Draughn will start in his place. DuJuan Harris also is active after being promoted from the practice squad Saturday.
Receiver Torrey Smith is dealing with a back injury -- and did not look spry in warmups -- but is active. So are cornerbacks Rashard Robinson (concussion), Jimmie Ward (quad) and safety Jaquiski Tartt (quad).
