San Francisco 49ers

Joe Staley will be in the spotlight when 49ers face Eagles. Will he be traded?

Three things to watch

EAGLES ARE ARMED

The quarterback-needy 49ers not only bypassed quarterback Carson Wentz in the draft a year ago, they didn’t even bring him in for a visit. San Francisco already has fallen to two members of the 2016 draft class – Jared Goff and Dak Prescott. Will Wentz, who ranks third in in the NFL in passing yards and fourth in passer rating, be the third?

THE JOE SHOW

Offensive tackle Joe Staley has given up a sack in each of the last two games and will be scrutinized by both teams in this game. The Eagles lost their All-Pro left tackle, Jason Peters, for the season. Staley’s name seems to come up every year as the trade deadline nears. This year, the 49ers might be more willing to make a move. The trade deadline is Tuesday.

BATTLE MODE OR FATIGUED

Teams that get thumped 40-10 like the 49ers did last week usually return the following week in fighting mode. Then again, not all teams have been on the road four times in five weeks. How much pep will the 49ers have left in Philadelphia? They seemed like they were already out of gas against the Cowboys.
