After visiting with an abundance of wide receivers and cornerbacks -- deemed the 49ers' two biggest needs -- in the run-up to the draft, the team took a defensive lineman with its first pick.

Ah, but they still have opportunities to restock those other positions, beginning in Rounds 2 and 3 Friday. That's when four wide receivers, Devin Smith of Ohio State, Sammie Coates of Auburn, Devin Funchess of Michigan and Dorial Green-Beckham of Oklahoma are expected to be taken. The team had pre-draft visits with all four.

The 49ers also met with cornerback Jalen Collins of LSU. At 6-1, he has the length Trent Baalke likes in cornerbacks and also played in a hard-nosed conference against tough opponents.

Other areas the 49ers could tap in Rounds 2 and 3 are inside linebacker and the offensive line. Some notable names:

WR Sammie Coates, Auburn
