The 49ers are double dipping on the NFL draft’s second day to give quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo new targets.

After tapping South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel early in Round 2, the team went back to the position a round later to take Baylor’s Jalen Hurd with the 67th pick overall.

Hurd (6-foot-5, 226 pounds) initially went to Tennessee as a big-framed running back in 2014, but then he transferred to Baylor and switched to receiver for the 2018 season. There, he racked up 69 catches for 946 yards while being named the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
