San Francisco 49ers

Who will the 49ers play? Can you get tickets? Answers to your playoff questions

The 49ers have had players step up all season to make their run into the playoffs as the top seed. The offense has blossomed in December with three players leading San Francisco into the playoffs. The team has the week off and on Jan. 11 will play the lowest seed remaining in the playoffs, which could well mean a rematch with the Seattle Seahawks, whom the 49ers beat 26-21 Sunday night.

Raheem Mostert has been hot all December, rushing for 379 yards and six touchdowns in his last five games. He also has a receiving touchdown while losing just one fumble.

Jimmy Garoppolo heated up at the right time Sunday, throwing no incompletions in the second half against the Seattle Seahawks as the 49ers eked out a 26-21 win. He completed 18 of 22 passes for the game and threw for 285 yards.

And Deebo Samuel has been good all year, racking up 57 catches and three receiving touchdowns. He has emerged as a running threat, with a 30-yard touchdown run against the Seahawks.

Fans have other burning questions as the 49ers enter the playoffs.

Can you still get 49ers playoff tickets?

Sure, if you’re willing to pay up. According to StubHub, it will cost about $250 to get into the upper corners of Levi’s Stadium for the 49ers’ game on Jan. 11 against the lowest seed remaining in the NFC playoffs.

When was the last time the 49ers went to the playoffs?

The 49ers last made the playoffs after the 2013 season. They made it to the NFC Championship game and lost 23-17 to the Seattle Seahawks.

That team was led by coach Jim Harbaugh, running back Frank Gore and, of course, controversial quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Harbaugh is now coaching the University of Michigan, Gore is in his 15th season, now with the Buffalo Bills, and Kaepernick hasn’t played since 2016, when he started kneeling during the National Anthem.

49ers injuries

San Francisco is relatively healthy, though the defense is showing signs of fatigue. Defensive lineman Dee Ford missed five of the last six games with a hamstring injury but it seems likely he’ll return for the playoffs. Defensive tackle Julian Taylor missed the Seahawks game with elbow and knee injuries but could also return. In the longshot category, linebacker Kwon Alexander is trying to return from a torn pectoral muscle, though his return would be unlikely. The offense is mostly healthy, with Samuel and offensive lineman Mike Person the only players listed on the 49ers’ injury report last week.

What’s the 49ers’ playoff schedule? Who will the 49ers play?

The 49ers will likely play the Seahawks or Eagles on Jan. 11. If the sixth-seeded Minnesota Vikings pull off a huge upset of the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round, the Vikings would then play the 49ers in the next round. But the more likely scenario is the top-seeded 49ers will host either the fifth-seeded Seahawks or the fourth-seeded Eagles.
