If you didn’t know the 49ers had a women assistant coach, now you do.

49ers offensive assistant coach Katie Sowers, 33, appeared in a Microsoft Surface commercial during Wild Card weekend, which featured an ad for the new Surface Pro 7. She is only the second woman to be hired full-time to coach an NFL team and first who is openly gay.

“I’m not here to be the token female, I’m here to help us win,” Sowers said in the commercial. “I would want to tell this little girl to keep pushing yourself. Your dream is coming.”

Sowers is in her fourth season in the NFL and second with the 49ers. She started her NFL coaching career in 2016 with the Atlanta Falcons, where she worked as a seasonal offensive assistant during the offseason and training camp. Sowers also spent nine months as a scouting intern for the Falcons.

Sowers played in the WFA (women’s football alliance) for eight seasons.
