Levi’s Stadium will get a chance to recuperate after taking a beating on the first two days of 49ers training camp. The team will practice on Monday at its usual practice fields, which are adjacent to the stadium.
The team’s original plan was to spend the first eight days of training camp at Levi’s in an effort to gain a better comfort level at the still-new facility. However, the field was torn up on Day 1 when a high school all-star game and 49ers practice took place over a span of six hours.
The most abuse has been delivered by the wide receivers and defensive backs -- 26 players total -- as they cut and accelerate during individual drills early in practice. The team rotated where those units warmed up over the last two days.
The 49ers have two more public practices -- on Wednesday and Sunday -- that will be held at Levi’s. The rest of the practice settings will be determined based on field conditions.
