The San Francisco 49ers will be wearing all black Saturday, Jan. 3, to face off against the Seattle Seahawks. But it’s not in mourning for the end of the regular season.

Players will be decked out in their “rivalries” uniforms for the final game of the regular season, the 49ers announced.

They’ll be wearing the gear for the first time this season.

“I know the crowd is going to go crazy,” defensive back Deommodore Lenoir said in a news release. “This is all everybody has been asking about.”

“The all-black look features a midnight black helmet with red striping and a gold-coated facemask, paired with bold red numbers outlined in gold and custom Saloon-style numbering inspired by the franchise’s historic wordmark,” the team said.

The 49ers announced the new “rivalries” gear in August 2025.

Fans also are encouraged to wear all black to match the team. The “rivalries” jerseys, sideline apparel and gear are available for purchase at NFLShop.com.

The 49ers also will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night during the game with giveaways including rally towels, and discounts on Zenni glasses and beer.

The NFC West title and the conference’s No. 1 seed will be on the line.

How to watch the game

The game begins at 5 p.m. Saturday on ESPN and ABC, the team said. It will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
