OT Tanner Hawkinson lands on 49ers practice squad
The 49ers revealed the 10th member of their practice squad today, offensive tackle Tanner Hawkinson, who originally was a fifth-round pick by the Bengals out of Kansas. The other nine players spent training camp with San Francisco and signed Sunday; Hawkinson, 25, needed to fly to Santa Clara and get a physical.
Hawkinson (6-5, 300) played in three games last year for the Bengals, who listed him as a guard. As a rookie, Hawkinson appeared in one game. Notably, he has 33 3/8-inch arms; 49ers general manager liked long-armed lineman, although 34 inches typically has been his benchmark.
