Adam Duvall hits for first cycle in team history as River Cats rout Salt Lake
At the rate Adam Duvall is going, he might not be a River Cat for long.
Especially considering the Giants’ anemic offense.
Duvall took his torrid hitting to another level Sunday, recording the first cycle in the team’s 16-year history as Sacramento routed the host Salt Lake Bees 15-7.
Duvall, who’s listed as a first baseman but played third base Sunday, went 5 for 6 with two doubles and four RBIs to raise his average to .457 (21 for 46).
He slugged his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning, a shot estimated at 470-feet that landed on the roof of a concession building, the River Cats reported. The solo homer gave Sacramento a 4-3 lead.
Duvall’s only out, a swinging strikeout, came in the sixth inning.
Sacramento’s Darren Ford finished a single shy of a cycle. He went 3 for 5 and was in the on-deck circle when the top of the ninth inning ended.
The River Cats collected 21 hits, including 13 for extra bases. Each starter had at least one hit and one RBI.
