River Cats ride Jarrett Parker’s hot bat to 6-5 win
Jarrett Parker’s two-out single in the 10th inning scored Skyler Stromsmoe with the winning run as the River Cats beat the Tacoma Rainiers 6-5 on Monday night at Raley Field.
Stromsmoe led off the 10th with a walk and moved to second on Ronny Cedeno’s sacrifice bunt. After Juan Perez struck out and Adam Duvall was walked intentionally, Parker lined the winning hit to center field.
Parker had a two-run single in the sixth inning and has seven hits and seven RBIs in his past two games. He is hitting .317.
Sacramento’s Hunter Strickland retired all six batters he faced to earn his first win.
