Ty Blach sharp in River Cats’ win over El Paso
Starter Ty Blach pitched six strong innings Sunday, leading the River Cats to a 4-1 victory over the El Paso Chihuahuas at Raley Field.
Blach (2-2) allowed one run on three hits and one walk and struck out four. The walk was his first of the season after 272/3 innings.
Steven Okert pitched three scoreless innings for his first save. Okert gave up one hit, walked two and struck out four.
Sacramento scored one run in the first inning and three in the third to lead 4-0.
The first run came in on an error. In the third inning, the River Cats executed a double steal for one run, Jarrett Parker drove in another with a single, and Juan Ciriaco had an RBI double.
El Paso scored in the fifth inning on a fielder’s choice by pinch hitter Jason Lane, a pitcher and former Houston Astros outfielder from Santa Rosa.
