River Cats beat Tacoma for fifth win in a row
Giants starter Jake Peavy allowed two runs in 41/3 innings, and the River Cats rode a four-run sixth inning to a 4-2 win over the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday night at Raley Field.
Peavy, on a rehabilitation assignment for a strained back, struck out five and walked one. He gave up four hits, including a two-run homer to Franklin Gutierrez in the fourth.
Jack Snodgrass took over and pitched 32/3 shutout innings for the win, Sacramento’s fifth in a row.
In the sixth, the River Cats loaded the bases after Juan Perez led off with a single and Adam Duvall and Jarrett Parker walked. Trevor Brown cleared the bases with a double and scored on Ryan Lollis’ sacrifice fly.
