The River Cats have postponed the upcoming exhibition game against the Giants as coronavirus fears continue to spread throughout the country.

The game was set to take place at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento on March 23. A reason for the postponement was not given, but the team said it is working on alternative arrangements.

Public gatherings across California are being canceled, postponed or scheduled to be played with no fans in attendance, including March Madness and home games for the Golden State Warriors and the Oakland A’s.

The River Cats, who won the Triple-A championship last season, beat the Giants in their last meeting at what was then known as Raley Field, winning 6-5 on March 24, 2018.
