In a matchup of major-league veterans, Jhoulys Chacin outdueled Matt Cain as the Reno Aces beat the River Cats 2-1 on Saturday night at Raley Field.
Chacin allowed one run on five hits in seven innings, struck out nine and walked one.
Cain, making his second rehab start for Sacramento, gave up two runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six and walked none.
Reno’s Blake Lalli drove in Cody Ransom from second base with a two-out single in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and chase Cain. Ransom, a former Giant who finished with three hits, had singled with two outs and stolen second.

Sacramento took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Lollis.
Reno tied the score in the fourth. With two outs, Jamie Romak was hit by a pitch, stole second base and scored on Mike Freeman’s single.
In the ninth, Hector Sanchez singled with two outs for the River Cats, but Lollis grounded out.
