Matt Cain looks good in River Cats’ win
Matt Cain pitched 5 2/3 strong innings in possibly his last rehab start as the visiting River Cats defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 7-5 on Thursday night.
The three-time All-Star, who’s coming back from an elbow injury, earned the victory after allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out four and walked two.
Ehire Adrianza and Jarrett Parker each had three of the River Cats’ 14 hits.
Sacramento led 7-2 after 6 1/2 innings, but Fresno scored one run in the seventh and two in the eighth.
