Early three-run homer dooms River Cats

Nick Evans hit a three-run homer in the third inning, leading the host Reno Aces over the River Cats 5-3 on Sunday night.

Sacramento starter Nik Turley walked three batters in the third, and all scored in Reno’s four-run inning. Two came in on Evans’ 13th homer of the season, and another scored on Peter O’Brien’s double to give the Aces a 5-2 lead.

The River Cats’ Carlos Triunfel went 2 for 4 with a double and solo home run.
