River Cats rally late but fall to Fresno
Kevin Frandsen’s two-run triple keyed a four-run eighth inning for the Rivers Cats, but Fresno won 8-5 Friday night at Raley Field.
L.J. Hoes and Robbie Grossman each had two hits and three RBIs for the Grizzlies.
Nik Turley (3-4) took the loss, giving up five hits and three runs (one earned) in six innings. He struck out four.
Clay Rapada came on in the seventh and was knocked around by Fresno, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning.
Grizzlies starter Luis Cruz (5-4) went six innings, giving up just one unearned run on five hits, to earn the win. He had three strikeouts.
