Blackburn helps Cats beat Albuquerque
Sacramento starting pitcher Clayton Blackburn came up with a dominant performance Friday night in Albuquerque, N.M., allowing two runs and six hits in seven innings as the River Cats defeated the Isotopes 7-2.
The 22-year-old right-hander helped his cause with an RBI single in the fourth inning.
But Sacramento’s key offensive inning was the eighth. With the score tied 2-2, the River Cats loaded the bases, then took advantage of back-to-back errors by shortstop Christhian Adames and an RBI single by Adam Duvall to score five runs. Duvall finished 3 for 5.
The Giants’ rehabbing Nori Aoki played seven innings and went 0 for 4 for Sacramento.
