River Cats strike in ninth for victory
Kevin Frandsen hit a tiebreaking three-run double in the ninth inning to lift the River Cats over the host Salt Lake Bees 4-1 Monday night.
Ryan Lollis led off the ninth with a walk. On Juan Perez’s sacrifice bunt, pitcher Mike Morin made a throwing error to put runners second and third. Mac Williamson was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
After Jarrett Parker struck out, Frandsen doubled to center off Morin.
Perez drove in the River Cats’ other run with a third-inning single.
Steven Okert picked up the victory with 12/3 shutout innings in relief.
The River Cats won for the seventh time in nine games.
