Fresno erupts early, routs Cats
The host Fresno Grizzlies took an 11-0 lead after three innings and coasted to a 12-2 victory on Saturday night over the River Cats, who suffered their fourth straight loss.
Max Stassi (Yuba City High School) clubbed a solo homer in Fresno’s seven-run third inning. The Grizzlies finished with 14 hits.
Sacramento starter Tommy Hanson lasted only 2 1/3 innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits.
Fresno will try to complete a sweep of the five-game series on Sunday night.
