Triunfel powers Cats to fifth straight win
Carlos Triunfel hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning as the visiting River Cats beat the Tacoma Rainiers 7-5 Friday night for their fifth straight victory.
Sacramento led 4-0 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but Tacoma cut the deficit to 4-3 before Triunfel’s blast. The Rainiers added two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
River Cats starter Tommy Hanson earned his first win of the season after five losses. He pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits.
