Giants to play River Cats at Raley Field in late March
The River Cats and Giants will play an exhibition game in late March at Raley Field, the first between the 2014 World Series champions and their Triple-A affiliate.
“We are thrilled to play an exhibition game with the River Cats at Raley Field in 2016,” Giants President and CEO Larry Baer said in a prepared statement. “We value our partnership with the River Cats and our shared fan base in the Sacramento area. This will be a great opportunity to thank our loyal fans for their passion and support for both of our organizations.”
River Cats General Manager Chip Maxson said the date of the game will be announced later.
“We’re looking at a few dates toward the end of March, but right now the priority is supporting the Giants in their push for the 2015 postseason,” Maxson said. “We’re excited about the Giants making their first trip to Raley Field and will be moving forward with more details during the upcoming offseason.”
