River Cats’ win streak ends
The River Cats’ winning streak ended at 13 games Sunday night with a 4-3 loss to the host Omaha Storm Chasers.
Omaha’s Jose Martinez led off the eighth with a tiebreaking home run off reliever Curtis Partch.
Kansas City All-Star Alex Gordon, who hadn’t played since July 8 after straining a groin muscle, hit a two-run homer as he began his Omaha rehabilitation assignment.
The River Cats rallied to tie it 3-3 on run-scoring singles by Mac Williamson in the sixth and Darren Ford in the seventh.
