Blackburn does it all in River Cats’ win
Clayton Blackburn pitched two-hit ball over 71/3 innings and singled in the only run as the River Cats beat the Reno Aces 1-0 on Monday night at Raley Field.
Blackburn (9-4) struck out nine and walked none. Braulio Lara threw 12/3 hitless innings for the save.
The River Cats’ run came in the second inning when a hit batter and two walks loaded the bases for Blackburn, who singled to center.
Giants outfielder Angel Pagan, on a rehabilitation assignment with the River Cats for knee tendinitis, went 1 for 4 with a double.
The victory opened a season-ending eight-game homestand for the River Cats, who have won 12 consecutive home games.
