Patrick McLain gets another shutout, but Republic ties Austin

Patrick McLain recorded his fifth shutout of the season to tie for the USL lead as visiting Republic FC played to a scoreless draw with the Austin Aztex on Saturday night.

Republic FC, which extended its unbeaten streak to four matches, leads the Western Conference by one point over LA Galaxy II (9-5-1).

Sacramento (9-6-2) will end its three-match trip on Wednesday against Real Monarchs SLC in Salt Lake City. Republic FC will return to Bonney Field on July 8 for a friendly against Atlas FC.

Saturday’s match was the second of two between Republic FC and Austin (5-7-3) this season. Austin won 1-0 at Bonney Field on June 6.
