England fans jeered. American fans wanted — perhaps even deserved — the win.
On Friday, the United States men’s soccer team frustrated the England squad of superstars with a 0-0 draw in an entertaining 90 minutes of international football.
It was the second consecutive draw for the U.S. in the World Cup. The result did not match the country’s famous 1-0 win from the 1950 tournament, but the underdog American team defied the odds again against the Three Lions.
England is still waiting for its first win in three World Cup matches against the U.S. The two sides fought to a 1-1 draw in South Africa in 2010.
