Witherspoon returns to Stanford, surprises woman living in her old dorm room
Reese Witherspoon made a return last weekend to a high-profile university known for its academics.
If you’re thinking Harvard, you’d be wrong. That was her character in “Legally Blonde.”
The 41-year-old actress attended Stanford, where she was Saturday to speak at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, People magazine reports.
While on campus, she decided to check out her old dorm room and met with the woman who occupies it now. Witherspoon posted the encounter on her Instagram account.
“Surprise! While re-visiting @Stanford, I popped by my old dorm room.... and met its newest tenant, Caitlyn! She was so nice; she even welcomed me in!” she wrote on the post.
Witherspoon left Stanford after one year to pursue her acting career. Smart move.
According to her IMDb page, she’s been in 55 movies and TV shows. Witherspoon won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2006 for her role in “Walk the Line,” a 2005 movie on the life of country music superstar Johnny Cash.
