Viewers of “CBS Evening News” will soon be greeted by a new anchor.
The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Scott Pelley will leave the role he’s held since June 2011, when he replaced Katie Couric.
He’ll continue to work on the network’s “60 Minutes” TV news magazine, where he’s been a correspondent since 2003.
Never miss a local story.
The New York Times reports that part of the reason Pelley could be out as the anchor is ratings – he’s hasn’t been able to overtake NBC’s Lester Holt or ABC’s David Muir.
