Elk Grove pedestrian dies when hit by tow truck
A pedestrian died when he was hit by a tow truck Tuesday night in Elk Grove.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s website identified the man as Zhenfen Wu, 66, of Elk Grove.
Elk Grove police said the tow truck was traveling eastbound on Elk Grove Boulevard at Bruceville Road with a green light about 10 p.m. Tuesday when Wu was struck. Wu was dressed in dark clothing and was running across the intersection in a marked crosswalk when he was hit, according to a police press release.
The tow truck driver immediately pulled over and called 911.
Medical personnel arrived and Wu was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday.
