Home Depot aims to hire 1,500 in Sacramento area

Atlanta-based Home Depot Inc. said Tuesday that it plans to hire 1,500 staffers for its 33 Sacramento-area stores, part of a nationwide push to hire 80,000 for the chain’s busy spring season.

Jobs include both part-time and full-time workers in Home Depot stores and distribution centers. Available positions include sales, cashiers and online ordering.

The home improvement retailer said it strongly urges college students, retirees and military veterans to apply. All job candidates must apply online at careers.homedepot.com.

Home Depot employs more than 300,000 individuals and oversees nearly 2,300 stores in 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
