Vehicle fire sends smoke skyward on I-80

A vehicle fire on I-80 E near P Street sent plumes of black smoke skyward Saturday afternoon.

The fire is extinguished and the Sacramento Fire Department is on the scene. The incident slowed traffic on both sides of the interstate.

No information was immediately available about the cause of the fire or possible injuries.

Traffic is moving and the vehicle, a four door sedan, was moved to the shoulder of the freeway.
