A Roseville woman who was reported missing Monday was found dead in Nevada County on Wednesday, police said.

Briana Ferguson, 41, was last seen Friday at her home in west Roseville and was reported missing Monday when she didn’t show up for work, said Rob Baquera, spokesman for the Roseville Police Department.

Baquera said police received a tip Wednesday reporting a sighting of Ferguson’s Jeep Grand Cherokee in Nevada County, and passed it along to Nevada County sheriff’s deputies to check it out.

Deputies found the unoccupied Jeep and confirmed it was Ferguson’s. They continued to search and found her body nearby, Baquera said.

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Department is handling the death investigation, but foul play is not suspected, Baquera said.

The sheriff’s department was not immediately available to comment.

Ferguson was a mother and wife. She worked as a real estate agent and owned a property management company in Roseville.
