Two people hurt, animals OK after SUV crashes into Sacramento PetSmart, authorities say

An SUV crashed through the window of a PetSmart store in south Sacramento, injuring two people Monday morning, fire officials said.

Crews responded to Florin Mall Drive for a report of a vehicle driving into a structure involving injuries, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said in tweets just before 11 a.m. Video posted by Metro Fire showed a white SUV that had crashed through the glass window to the right of a PetSmart store’s entrance.

In an update to Twitter, Metro Fire said that two people were injured “but no animals inside the store were hurt.” It was not clear whether those who were injured were in the vehicle, inside the store or one of each.

The severity of the injuries was not known.

No other details were immediately available.
