Man dies after being pulled from American River near Sutter’s Landing
A man died Friday after being pulled from the American River near Sutter’s Landing Regional Park, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
Fire crews responded around 3:41 p.m. to a water rescue in the first block of 28th Street. Multiple units were dispatched, including boats and technical rescue teams.
The man had been underwater for nearly an hour, said Fire Department spokesperson Justin Sylvia. He was recovered just before 4:30 p.m., and emergency crews began CPR before transporting him to a hospital.
He was later pronounced dead, Sylvia confirmed.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was expected to identify the man after notifying next of kin.
