In an acrimonious split, popular radio personality Ed Crane is no longer with Sacramento’s KFBK 1530/ 93.1 FM, Crane and the station confirmed Tuesday.

Crane had hosted the morning talk program since 2008.

With his contract nearing expiration, Crane said he got word he wouldn’t be back, but without a clear reason.

“Some untrue things were said that weren’t nice,” Crane said. “I don’t get it. We were No. 1.”

His last day was Jan. 5.

He said he is “considering all my options” and “wasn’t happy with how it happened.”

Station officials declined to offer details.

“It’s a personnel decision,” said John Geary, iHeartMedia/Sacramento Market president. “He was let go. There is nothing more to discuss.”

On Friday, the station named Bill White program director for KFBK and Talk KSTE 650 AM. White had previously served as program director in Tucson and Chicago. White is scheduled to assume the Sacramento post Jan. 20, according to a station news release.
