Man killed in south Sacramento shooting is identified by coroner
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man killed along a south Sacramento street over the weekend.
The coroner’s website identified the victim as Andrew Williams, 22, of Sacramento.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, the Sacramento Police Department received a call about a man who had been shot in the 2300 block of 51st Avenue, a department news release said. Officers found Williams lying on the south curb of the street.
Life-saving efforts were attempted, but Williams died at the scene. The motive for the killing was unknown.
